There’s something truly special about capturing moments for a family that knows how to have a good time while cherishing tradition. Recently, I had the joy of photographing a multi-generational family horse ride. Imagine 20 family members and 7 horses on a gorgeous day – it was fantastic!
The Roots of a Cherished Tradition
This tradition started with Frank and Carol, the parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents who taught everyone to love horses. Now, their two daughters, along with their husbands, kids, spouses, and grandkids, keep the tradition alive. It’s their way of honoring Frank and Carol, and honestly, it’s a blast to witness.
A Day of Fun and Family Bonding
Seeing this big, lively family come together is always a treat. They’ve all grown up around horses, and it shows. From teenagers to grandparents, everyone shares a bond with these big, beautiful creatures. The horses feel like part of the family, with personalities all their own.
The day couldn’t have been better. The sun was shining, the woods at Kettle Moraine State Forest Park were inviting, and the excitement was contagious. Everyone, including the horses, was buzzing with energy. The vibe was all about fun, family, and making new memories.
This was actually my second time capturing a family horse ride for them, and each time is just as special. (Check out the first session here). Seeing how the family has grown and the new memories they’re making is incredibly rewarding.
Capturing the Moments
As a photographer, these are the moments I live for. The smiles, the laughter, the little glances between family members – it’s real and heartwarming. Capturing these moments is a privilege and a joy. Multi-generational family photography allows me to preserve these precious traditions and the bonds that tie this family together.
A Legacy in Action
One of the highlights was seeing Frank and Carol’s legacy in action. As the family rode together, you could feel the love and pride they have for each other. It’s a beautiful, heartfelt tradition that I’m honored to document. Multi-generational family photography captures not just the moments but the essence of this family’s love and heritage.
If there’s one thing this family teaches, it’s the importance of keeping traditions alive and having fun while doing it. Whether it’s a multi-generational family horse ride or any other family activity, these moments are priceless. They remind us of our roots and keep us connected.
The Joy of Family and Photography
In the end, it’s not about getting the perfect shot or the most stunning background. It’s about capturing the real, fun moments that tell the story of a family’s love and legacy. Multi-generational family photography is all about these genuine, heartwarming interactions that make my job as a photographer so incredibly rewarding.
To this amazing family… once again, I am honored and grateful to have been allowed to have been a part of this moment with you all!
