Allisen + Nathan’s Outdoor Summer Wedding at The Flower Bee in Franksville, WI
As a Kenosha wedding photographer, I’ve seen a lot of things. But I’ve never seen a wedding day quite like Allisen and Nathan’s.
It was 105 degrees with 25 mph winds, and nearly everything took place outdoors at the gorgeous Flower Bee in Franksville, Wisconsin, including a reception in their open-air barn. It was one of those days where nature showed up loud… but so did the love, the laughter, and the kind of joy you can’t fake.
And honestly?
That’s what made it unforgettable.
They could have let the weather steal the spotlight, but they didn’t. Instead, they smiled, laughed, leaned into the joy of it all… and it was an absolute honor to witness and photograph every minute of it.
A Glowing Bride and the Sweetest Quiet Moments
One of my favorite parts of the day came early on, when Allisen slipped into her gown. The light from the window hit her just right as she stood there, still and calm, breathing in the moment. She was stunning… glowing in that soft natural light and I loved documenting her slowly, intentionally, just taking it all in.
And then came a moment I’ll never forget: as she got ready to head to the first touch, her bridesmaids were all around her… fanning her, touching up her lipstick, calming her with laughter, fixing her hair. Just showing up in all the little ways.
On the other side of the wall, Nathan stood quietly by himself, hands folded, patient and steady. No fanfare. No need for prep. Just waiting for her.
And I thought… isn’t that just how we are? Girls love good girlfriends. We rally. We support. We hover, we fix, we fluff. It was so special to see that contrast. Two people preparing to meet, each in their own way.
Vows in the Flower Fields
The ceremony took place right in the middle of the flower fields at The Flower Bee. The wind had its way with the veils and dresses, but it made everything feel alive. It was beautiful, emotional, and so full of purpose.
They exchanged vows with the sun shining down and their friends and family cheering them on. From the moment she walked down the aisle to the final kiss, you could feel that this was the kind of love that stays steady… no matter what the day brings.
A Dance with Her Grandfather and a Whole Lot of Fun
After dinner came the father-daughter dance, and just when we thought it couldn’t get more emotional, Allisen’s dad passed her off to her grandfather… a man who clearly holds a huge place in her heart.
Their dance was quiet, gentle, and full of meaning. I was behind my camera, blinking back tears along with everyone else in the room.
From there, the energy shifted into celebration. The dance floor filled up, the singing started, and the joy was contagious. Then karaoke broke out, and this crew made the night one to remember.
Then… the Sunset
And just when we thought we were wrapping up, the sky decided to show off. We stepped away for a few quiet minutes during sunset, and oh my goodness.
The light was golden, soft, and perfect. It was warm, peaceful, and everything we hoped for. After all the heat and wind and running around, this moment made it all worth it.
Allisen and Nathan were relaxed. Married. Glowing.
And those sunset portraits?
Total perfection.
From Me to You
Allisen and Nathan… thank you. Thank you for choosing me, for trusting me, and for being so present on a day that asked a lot from both of you. You never let go of each other or the joy of what the day was about. It was a gift to witness.
To your families… thank you for welcoming me in. You made me feel like part of the team from the start, and I’m so grateful for that.
